Design4Children project was born
Design4Children, a new european project for research and development was born at the beginning of October. This project is led by the Spanish Association of Childrens Products, ASEPRI, and Childrens Fashion Europe is a collaborating partner.
Design4Children will enhance the competitiveness of the sector through the development of three innovative tools for R&D biomechanics and ICT: support tool design, virtual dummy for testing design and web 2.0. These tools will promote a new childrens product differentation to meet international competition, and promote the comfort, quality and safety of childrens products and innovative product design.
Design4Children will develop over the next 3 years and will take as a starting point of research on child biomechanical conditions and the interaction of children with clothes and products to which they relate. From the conclusions drawn will be identify a number of criteria elasticity, flexibility, thermal comfort and movement and resistance of tissues amongst others.
The virtual dummy for testing the designs will allow SMEs to see how the product is and whether it meets the criteria that has been designed without recourse to the creation of real prototypes. An instrument that will help economising and significantly will speed up the product creation process of companies.
